Using Testimonials to Boost Your Credibility
In this day and age a good amount of business is being done online. Because of how the internet is structured and how fast two people can transfer information - the world wide web is a perfect venue for many ventures. However, along with many good and honest businesses being conducted online, there are many shady ones as well. As the internet grows, there will be more and more scammers lurking around waiting to trick unsuspecting customers out of their money. This is why it has become increasingly hard, and has made more and more people reluctant to do business online.
This can become frustrating for the honest business men trying to sell a product or service with pure intent. Because of this, obtaining credibility has become the primary struggle of internet marketers all around the world. Sadly, this is easier said than done. The way the internet is organized it is difficult to convey to any customer that you are in fact a legitimate business. This is because the web imposes many communication blocks. You can not see, hear, or talk to your potential customer at all. This means that you have to make the customer feel welcome and at ease with just what is on your web page alone.
There are many ways to go about doing this. The first, and probably the most effective, is the testimonial. Whenever you do business with someone kindly ask them to say a few kind things about your business so that you can use it as a testimonial. It takes about two minutes to do, and most people will be happy to do it for you if they had a favorable experience with your business. This will go leaps and bounds in the way of making potential customers feel comfortable doing business with you. This is simply because if the customer feels like other people are doing business with you and they are happy and satisfied with your service or product, they will be more likely to feel that they might have the same experience.
The second thing you can do, is add images and sound clips to your web page. This is a good idea for a multitude of reasons. First, one of the biggest communication blocks on the internet is the customer not being able to see who they're doing business with. If you simply add a picture of yourself to your web site, this will go a long way in boosting your credibility. In the same token, the same can be done with an audio clip. Do a search online and find some audio editing software. Using this software (and of course, a microphone) you can record yourself telling a bit about your business and embed the clip into your website. This makes you appear more professional and makes the customer feel that you are talking to them personally.
Boosting your credibility online will always be a struggle. However, if you know the right way to structure your web page, you can capture back some of that large portion of skeptical customers that are reluctant to do business online. Keep in mind that boosting credibility is all about removing communication blocks and letting customers know you have other customers that are happy with your work. If you establish these two, you should have no problem bringing in plenty of business.
